oh hey here’s a good time for me to bring up the potential issues with ayaka’s new photobook

Here’s the deal: a few weeks ago, I received a weird comment on a picture of Ayaka and some kind of… creepy mannequin (at least I hope it was mannequin) and I said, “Wow, this is creepy.” Someone reblogged it saying, “Better than a little boy.” I was super confused.

Then I got my copy of the photobook and I was no longer confused.

Basically, Ayaka poses topless with a little baby boy.

I don’t think there’s necessarily anything wrong with that in principle; the fact that (cis)women being topless is TEH HAWTNESS AND ILLEGAL and (cis)men being topless is… Tuesday annoys me. But my feelings on the matter are probably irrelevant.

Some of the pics are pretty innocuous, like Ayaka just holding the kid or playing on the bed with him. There are a few that are… not; I will not be posting those.

I want to stress: nothing bad is happening to the kid. If there was, this would not be a question.

Anyway, since the photobook is meant to be erotic in context, even the pics that are not erotic make a me a bit nervous.

So I’ll cede the community here. Would you guys prefer I just leave the baby out altogether, or just the pics that are potentially squicky?

Ayaka’s stuff is… a wee bit similar. Is this a new gravure trend? Because I gotta say, I’m not a fan.
I’ll describe it in more detail below. So I guess if you want something for comparison, click the link?
Better safe than sorry, so: POTENTIALLY TRIGGERING DESCRIPTION AHEAD:
It’s a young white boy holding an idol’s breasts. Click at your own discretion. The worst of Ayaka’s ‘naked with baby’ series features a close up on one breast with the baby’s hand… strategically placed. I really did not want to write that, ugh.
The weirdest thing for me about the Ayaka pics is that they make no sense in context with the rest of the book. For the most part, she’s wandering around Hawaii being cute or lounging on furniture being sexy, but then there’s this weird part in the beginning where she’s naked and lots of random (TOTALLY UNSEEN) people are touching her. And also the black (I sincerely hope) mannequin. And a random baby. Does not compute.
I think we should go ahead and start a prayer circle for the next photobook. I just want something quality like Moon Doll (BEST!), Killer Virgin Road (Stylized and Pink!), or Summer Date (Risque with Context!). Is that so much to ask?

I assume that’s the case. And I’d really like to not worry about it - like I said, the (cis)male/female topless double standard annoys. But it’s difficult to unlearn my heaps and heaps of Catholic guilt.

And there’s the added complication that although both pics are totally fine in Japan (or at least less taboo), I don’t know if in America, someone could make the case for them being… illegal. So I’d prefer to err on the side of caution.

I somehow totally missed that the photobook got pulled (I accomplished this by not reading anything on the page that’s linked, haaaa), so I assumed it was deemed appropriate. Thanks to everyone for the correction.

Also, I recognize that my comments re: Kasai and the photobook were problematic (at best), and I do apologize. I try not to do things like that since I’m in no position to speak about things outside my worldview. But I forgot myself; I’ll do my best not to let it happen again.

Anyway, regarding the photobook, I’ll scan in the pics with the baby where Ayaka’s just hanging out with him being adorable. Because he is seriously a super adorable baby.
